These images were shot of the riders of various abilities in the different classes at the Round 5 WA Championship on the 20/8/17 held at Cockburn International Kartway .Cockburn.WA..

SupermotoWA went to the Cockburn International Kartway for round 5 of the Club Championship, the weather was ideal with a dry track and the sun shining.
First out for their 6 laps were the Postie bikes ,the lights went out and the group headed into T1 ,coming out in front was Ryan Woods ,being hotly pursued by Dave Mercer ,Gaby Watson ,but as the laps went down it was Ryan Woods who was leading with Gaby Watson and Dave Mercer fighting it out for second spot, then DGM had an unexpected off which let Gaby Watson take second place with Wayne Brittain picking up third .In Race 2 the riders lined up the flag dropped and it was again trio of Ryan Woods ,Gay Watson and DGM who fought it out to get thru’ T1 ,this contest continued for the next few laps ,but Ryan Woods again headed the pack with Mercer and Watson fighting it out for second place but at the end of the 6 laps it was Ryan Woods who took the top podium ,with DGM claiming second and Gaby Watson getting third place. Race 3 came along and the lights went out and it was Wayne Brittain who rode into T1 ahead of the pack ,but as the laps counted down it was Gaby Watson who edged out Ryan Woods by just over 0.4 sec with DGM coming in 0.3 of a sec behind Woods .In Race 4 they lined up and it was again Wayne Brittain that charged off the line and into T1 ,keeping the head down head kept Watson and Co at hand ,but again as the 6 laps went by it was Ryan Woods that claimed the top podium with Watson picking up second ,coming in third was DGM.
The mini motards were the next group out with 10 riders lining up the lights went out and the group headed into T1 ,coming out it was the duo of Tim Rose and Beau Erikson who were going at it ,and as the laps went down Tim Rose Rose kept his wheel in front of Beau Erikson while behind them it was a battle between Lee Johnson and mini GP rider Stefano Cavali ,after the 8 laps it was Tim Rose who claimed the top spot beating Beau Erikson by just under 0.4 of a sec ,coming in third was Lee Johnson .Race 2 the riders came out the flag dropped and the 10 riders took off and went thru’ T1 ,again fighting for the front spot was Tim Rose ,Beau Erikson, Stefano Cavali and Lee Johnson ,as the laps went down it was again Tim Rose who was leading the group but only just with Beau Erikson hot on his heels ,on the final lap the front runners were still fighting it out ,Tim Rose ended up claiming the top spot by just 0.2 of a sec ,Beau Erikson getting second and mini GP rider Stefano Cavali claiming third spot on the podium .In Race 3 the 10 riders came out ,the flag dropped and the riders headed into T1 ,then as the group headed into T2 it was Beau Erikson who was staking his claim on first place ,Tim Rose coming second with the duo of Lee Johnson and Stefano Cavali fighting it out for third, when the 8 laps came up it was Beau Erikson who took the top spot by just over 10 secs,Tim Rose getting second ,Lee Johnson picking up third spot .In Race 4 they came out for their last race of the day ,the riders lined up ,the flag dropped and it was again Beau Erikson and Tim Rose heading into T1 being pursued by Stefano Cavali and Lee Johnson ,as the race went on it was Beau Erikson showing Tim Rose a clean back wheel while Cavali and Johnson were doing battle for third place ,at the end it was Beau Erikson taking the top spot by just under 4.5 secs from Tim Rose ,with mini GP rider Stefano Cavali picking up third.
The next group out were the Clubman ,the riders lined up ,the lights went out and they rode into T1 ,coming out was Roger Davies being hotly pursued by Beki Pech ,with Ryan Woods ,Peter Purdi and Cara Potts contesting 3 place ,as the race went on Yamaha rider Roger Davies was fighting continual challenges from Honda rider Beki Pech ,but at the end of the seven laps it was Roger Davies who claimed the top podium by 0.15 sec from Beki Pech ,coming in third was Husqvarna rider Peter Purdy. Race 2 came along and the riders lined up, the flag dropped and the riders charged into turn 1 with the Yamaha of Roger Davies and the Honda of Beki Pech going at it again, as the laps counted down a determined Beki Pech got her wheel in front of Davies and ended up claiming the top podium by 1.5 secs, Roger Davies claiming second with Husqvarna rider Peter Purdy getting third. In Race 3 the riders came out ,lined up ,the lights went out and away they went on their 7 lap journey ,as the laps went by it was again the Yamaha of Roger Davies who was heading the pack with Honda rider Beki Pech sitting on his back wheel ,but at the end of the 7 laps it was Roger Davis who just beat Beki Pech by a short front wheel ,Husqvarna rider Peter Purdi coming in to claim third place .Race 4 came along ,the group lined up ,again the lights went out and the group took off into T1 ,and again coming out was Roger Davies who was being hotly pursued by Beki Pech with Peter Purdy fighting for third ,the two riders out the front were going for it providing some great spectator viewing ,but at the end of the 7 laps it was Roger Davies who took the flag by just over 0.2 of a sec ,Peter Purdy coming in third .
The next group to come out and line up were the 17 Open riders,t5he lights went out and they headed into T1 with TM Grant Roncevich , Kawasaki rider Tim Boujos with Husqvarna rider Asher Broslma battling it out at the head of the class as the riders rode their 8 laps it was TM rider Grant Roncevich who claimed the top podium by just over 5 secs from Kawasaki rider Tim Boujos ,coming in third was Husqvarna rider Asher Broslma .In Race 2 the 17 riders again lined up ,the flag dropped and the class headed into T1 ,but coming out the front of the group was Kawasaki rider Tim Boujos with TM rider Grant Roncevich and Yamaha rider Damon Gibbons hot on his back wheel ,as the 8 laps counted down it was Tim Boujos who rode on to take the flag by 1.3 secs from Grant Roncevich ,with Damon Gibbons collecting third .In Race 3 the field came out ,the lights went out and the riders headed into T1 and again coming out in front was Kawasaki rider Tim Boujos with Grant Roncevich stuck on his back wheel ,while Husqvarna rider Asher Broslma and Yamaha rider Damon Gibbons were doing battle for third place ,after the 8 laps it was Tim Boujos by the shortest of margins crossing the line .2 sec in front of Grant Roncevich with Asher Broslma riding in to collect third .In the last race of the day the riders came and during the early part of the race there was an incident where the red flag was waved and the race stopped .After a break Race 4 was restarted ,the 11 riders came out and lined up ,the lights went out and they took off into T1 and as with previous races it was a duel between Kawasaki rider Tim Boujos and TM racer Grant Roncevich ,as they rode their 8 laps it was Tim Boujos that held off many challenges from Grant Roncevich ,Boujos went on to take the flag by just under 0.2 secs ,coming third was Asher Brolsma with a group of 5 riders that fought out there race ,as with all races there are races within the races and this was no exception .
A great day was had by all and thanks to all the flaggies and Officials..
