              The 2012 AirAsia Australian MotoGP was held at Phillip Island in Victoria ,at Phillip Island the weather can do anything and on this weekend it surely did ,we had high winds ,lots of rain and then out came the sun ,so over the three days we went from hypothermia to sunburn .The weather didn't deter the crowds as being Casey Stoners last MotoGP race in Australia alot of fans came to see him win. The MotoGP race started off with Dani Pedrosa coming of at Honda cnr on the first lap ,leaving Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo to battle it out for the top spot on the podium ,Casey Stoner ended up winning his last race on home soil beating Jorge Lorenzo by +9.223 sec's,the other spot on the podium went to Carl Crutchlow a further +14.570 sec's back.With Jorge Lorenzo getting  second (2nd) spot that gave him enough points to win the 2012 MotoGP championship .

            The Moto 2 race was won by POL Espargaro who beat his nearist rival Anthony West by +16.811 sec's ,the third spot on the podium was filled by a young bloke by the name of Marc Marquez who was +16.837 sec's back ,but by finishing third (3rd) it gave Marc Marquez him enough points to win the 2012 Moto 2 championship .The Moto 3 race was run with Sandro Cortese taking the top spot on the podium , Mgiuel Olivera was +2.108 sec's back giving him second (2nd) place with the third spot on the podium going to Australian Arthur Sissis who was +5.031 sec's back .Sandro Cortese won the 2012 Moto 3 championship in the previous round in Sepang ,Malaysia..

           Overall it was a good effort by the Australians who had a rider on the podium in each of the classes ,so well done. Aussie,Aussie,Aussie !!!
